WHITE CITY TOWNSHIP COMMUNITY COUNCIL
September 3rd, 2008 @ 7:00 PM

MINUTES
- Meeting called to order by Troy Blundell, Chair, there was a Quorum.
- Welcome, Introductions and Pledge of Allegiance lead by Greg Schultz
proceeded.
- Kay Dickerson presented the August 6th, 2008 minutes for approval. Paulina
Flint made a motion to approve the August Minutes, it was seconded and
approved.
- Paulina Flint made a motion to defer the Treasurer’s report, it was
seconded and approved.
- Paulina Flint made a motion to defer the Mayor’s Office Report, it was
seconded and approved.
- Proposed Chicken Ordnance was discussed and the discussion decided that
new ordnance was not needed. The present ordnances need to be enforced
without new ordnances. Paulina Flint made a motion to oppose any ordnance to
bring additional fowl and other animals into a Residential R 1-8 area.
Motion seconded and approved.
- Evaluation of the position of Greg Schultz’s position of community
council liaison. Recommend the position be made a full time position with
the county. Paulina read a letter to be sent to the SL County Council
supporting Greg in his liaison position. Paulina Flint made a motion to
support the letter to county council with corrections. Seconded and
approved. A second motion was made to encourage the county council and ACCT
to seek a full time position for the community council liaison. Seconded and
approved.
- Paul Smith introduced several members of Boy Scout Troop 612 that were
attending the council meeting to help in merit badge requirements.
- Item 7. Jeffrey L. Silvestrini information was put on the agenda by error
and was discussed above.
- Jeremy Christensen gave the Treasurer’s report and proposed 2009 budget.
Paulina Flint made a motion to approve the Budget report. Seconded and
approved. Paulina made a second motion to approve the proposed 2009 Budget.
Motion seconded and approved.
- Paulina discussed Neighborhood to Neighborhood Drive for 13 September,
2008. Need volunteers to help with cleanup and lunch. Lunch to be presented
by WCTCC for all helpers. Lunch will be presented at Alta View Elementary
School. Jeremy Christensen made a motion to have J & K’s Indulgence
supply the food and have it delivered to Alta View. Seconded and approved.
- Paulina Flint discussed the ACCT Legislative dinner to be presented by the
community council on 20 November. Paulina handed out a letter from the
school allowing us to use the Eastmont School free of charge.
- Troy Blundell discussed the need for storage space for a lot of material
we are gathering and have no place to put it. Troy suggested we look at the
building that the SL County Sheriff’s are using in the basement. Paulina
Flint noted that the lease agreement on the building from the White City
Water has a provision to allow possible use for this storage. Don Patocka
made a motion for the Chair to seek out and arrangement with the White City
Water Company for use of the basement of this building for storage of some
of these materials. Paulina Flint made a motion to amend the motion to draft
and agreement to use the basement for this storage. Seconded and approved
- Bev Uipi gave the Mayor’s report. Neighborhood to Neighborhood project.
Need to deliver door hangers on 9 September Tuesday at 4 pm meeting at Alta
View Elementary School. 13 September the project will start at 8 am at Alta
View. Jeremy Christensen made a motion to authorize Paulina Flint to
negotiate with Alta View Elementary to use the Cafeteria for the lunch and
pay necessary fee if required. Seconded and approved.
- Candidates at meeting shared their thoughts for a few moments. Trisha Beck
and Max Burdick.
- Jeremy Christensen made a motion to Start Planning for a White City Day
next year and set the date now as August 15, 2009. Seconded and approved.
- Motion was made by Paulina Flint to adjourn, motion carried.
