MINUTES
 

  • Meeting called to order by Troy Blundell, Chair, there was a quorum.
  • Welcome, Introductions Officer Lt. Bill Robertson of UPD and Jennifer Martin of Valley Journal. No Pledge was done since a flag was not available.
  • Kay Dickerson presented the March 7th, 2012 minutes for approval. Don Patocka made a motion to approve the March 7th, 2012 Minutes. Motion was seconded and approved.
  • Unified Police Report-Lt. Robertson of UPD reported there were 189 Calls with 66 Cases and 67 Offenses. He reported that the homicide that occurred in Draper actually started in White City on Poppy Lane. Young girl was beaten in house and then dropped by the Jordan River. People that were in the home are no longer there and house has been secured.
  • Mayorís Office-Greg Schulz reported that the Wasatch Plan for 2040 is coming up and the Great Utah Shakeout April 17th at 10:15 am. He brought the check for us from the County, but none for Southeast Township Days. We need to request that separate.
  • Website-Kay Dickerson discussed the need to send a check to our website Webmaster so he could pay for the Domain Name renewal and private registration at the cost of $25.16 per year. Recommended that we pay for 4 years or $100.64. Don Patocka made a motion to pay for 4 years. Motion seconded and passed.
  • Treasurerís Report, Jeremy Christensen gave the Treasurerís report. No real changes in the accounts for the last couple of months. Paulina Flint made a motion to accept the Treasurers report. Motion seconded and approved. Paulina made a motion to request revolving funds. Seconded and approved. Jeremy Christensen will request the money for the Southeast Township Days.
  • Southeast Township Days-Paulina Flint mentioned that we have approval to use the 501 status from Utah Neighborhoods council for Southeast Township Days. Vendors have started calling to reserve space for the event. Ron Faerber will be the contact for contributions. Committee met last week to get things rolling. We need to start getting permission to put up signs on personal property. This needs to get underway so there will not be interference with the Elections. Paper work for applications will be on Website.
  • New Business-David Scharffs of the Citizens Advisory Board and also serving on the Legislative Committee mentioned that he appreciated all the help at the Legislature. Denise Nielson who is one of the Emergency Preparedness People in the area gave report on how they are working to get the neighborhood on the North side of Dimple Dell organized. They are calling Block Captains getting 72 hour kits, Clothing, and Home check lists ready for a disaster. A drill will be held on April 17th at 10:15 am. Paulina Flint mentioned that our Area Cleanup is scheduled for July 13th thru 17th. We asked that UPD be on the lookout for Dumpster divers during this time. ACCT Mtg. Thursday. Next meeting Wasatch Regional Council will be coming to the meeting to give a presentation on 2040 Plan and looking at Rapid Transit possibly coming to 1300 East. Dave Scharffs of the Citizens Advisory Board said that at their meeting of the 12th will be on a Dispatchers presentation on how they are working on the 911, and Valley Emergency Communications (VEC) phone systems to correct some of the bugs they have found. Charles Halverson mentioned that Bonds for Parks are being worked. This means we are still trying to figure out a way to fund Parks. It was mentioned that street lighting is being changed over to LEDís in the area. Jeremy Christensen is still looking for the cost to install mirrors at the 9400 S and Poppy Lane intersection. Sandy City is no longer using the Canal that runs through White City for irrigation water. It is still used for Storm Drainage by the County. There are some plans to make a trail in place of the canal. People need to be aware and watch for discussions about the effects it may have on the area.
